Playhouse Plans – The Basics
Playhouses are the little dream houses that kids never forget. They are usually placed outside the house for children to play in. A playhouse can bring in a whole new world of fun into the lives of your little ones.

When you decide to build your own playhouse, you can choose between a playhouse that rests amongst the trees or you can build a small house that rests flatly on the ground. You can also construct a playhouse by hiring a professional carpenter. In order to build a playhouse on your own, you can follow the given steps:
1. The first step is to choose a suitable site. The site should be leveled and have a good soil drainage. You will need to clear the site of rocks, trees etc.
2. Next, you need to decide the dimensions of the backyard playhouse, which should be included in a good set of playhouse plans. An optimum playhouse would be six feet by eight feet. The height of the playhouse will depend on the height of your kids. For constructing the playhouse, you will need four wooden stakes, a hammer, a ball of string and a measuring tape. You can increase the height of your playhouse by adding onto it when your kids grow.
3. After you have measured the length and width, pound the stakes into the ground to mark these dimensions. Then attach the string to the stakes all the way around. To lay the foundation for the playhouse, you will need four two by fours. Lay the wood inside the stakes and then remove the stakes and place the pieces together. Next, you will need several two by fours to make the frame of the floor with.
4. Once the foundation is completed, you will need to build and add the frames of the walls.
5. It is important to install a doorway in the front. Once the outer frame is completed, you need to measure and mark out where the door will be. The doorway should be about two feet wide and the height should be according to the height of your children.
A playhouse should be colorful and decorative since it is for children. You can place all the indoor games for your children inside the playhouse.
